This grey Surplus Windbreaker jacket is a tough and dependable light jacket that can be easily stashed away in the kit bag and whipped out for protection against quickly changing weather conditions.
The outer layer of the jacket is made from 100% nylon, which is highly effective against sudden downpours and is also breathable keeping you dry and comfortable.
Unlike many other windbreakers, it also has a soft fleece liner and so is exceptionally comfortable to wear. Keep the heat in and the wind out by pulling up the jacket’s snorkel hood for additional protection against the elements.
The jacket also has a single left hand side zip which can be used to increase freedom of movement, cool off in warmer weather and helps to make it easy to get on and off.
Windproof, breathable and lightweight, the windbreaker has three handy pockets for storing maps, compasses, keys and other kit, and its adjustable Velcro cuffs create an effective seal against the wind and rain.
This rugged windbreaker is ideal for use in a range of outdoor pursuits such as hiking, camping and also for everyday use.

Fits like a treat 👍
This is the second one I’ve bought , went for black this time . I have an olive green one already , I wear the jacket everywhere , it’s brilliant and the price is great
These pullover jackets are fantastic, I rarely take mine off , I want to buy another to use on my gravel bike as it is an awesome jacket , it looks great and is so comfortable and warm when needs be . Military Kit is my favourite store as well . Their customer service is impeccable
The jacket is Certainly warm and its a brilliant in the rain the only thing I found is the inner lining is coming out of the sleeve
See review title - big thank you to the Military Kit team.
Second. Purchase not a replacement a newer one for day to day. The first one now for hills and campiy, they get better with age.
Excellent purchase better than expected would order again.
Great overhead jacket, Definitely wind proof and warm for them walks ... Would I recommend? Easy yes ..
Warm, windproof, lightweight and able to deal with light showers. A very useful jacket, especially given the price.
I've been wearing this in the North of Scotland for a few weeks now. Temperatures have been between -1 and 4 C. But I'm kept nice and warm in this windbreaker!
It could definitely go colder but I'm not sure by how much. I tend to wear a t-shirt and a thick hoodie underneath the jacket and can get too warm when I'm walking.
I've had this on in some fairly moderate rain for about 45 minutes and it held up well. I'm still unsure how long it would stay dry if exposed to very heavy rain though as I was testing a different jacket that day which ended up wet inside! I'm estimating that it shouldn't be used as a 'waterproof' layer in extremely heavy rain if you plan on being out for long periods of time as the fleece liner won't dry very quickly if it does get wet!
It is very fast to put on. As for the size in regards to packing this, it packs down to roughly the size of a regular loaf of bread. It is brilliant at keeping the wind out and the heat in!
Overall this is an excellent warmers jacket, but I don't think you should rely on it as your only waterproof outside layer if you plan on staying outside overnight in heavy rain. If this does end up wet inside then it isn't going to dry very quickly in a camping situation. That's just good practice though. It will definitely serve you well for everyday, less arduous use however.
