Snugpak SJ12 Softie Jacket Olive

As a 61 year old all year carp angler, I need a warm jacket to see me through the north east winter. The Snugpak SJ12 is it.

Fit: I'm 6'7" and weigh 22st. The coat fits me pretty much perfectly. Plenty of length in the body and sleeves, and the hood is nice and close to the head. Elastic cords cinch in at all the right places, but the omission of any cuff adjustment seems a bit odd.

Performance: excellent. The jacket kept me warm during a 72 hour session that saw wind, rain, clear nights and heavy frost. I've no doubt it'll admirably see me through the long winter ahead. And beyond.

Pros: excellent fit. Very warm. Good price from Military Kit.

Cons: a little bulky (unsurprisingly) and no cuff adjustment.

Verdict: I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

Thus is the 5th Snugpak jacket I have owned, the first gave up the ghost after 25 years, the others are still going strong. I now live in Canada where the weather is a little colder, the softies are still perfectly fine, however I wanted to be warmer, this jacket is so much warmer just putting it on you can feel the difference and your core temperature rising. For cold weather these jackets are the only way to go, also customer service is fantastic from Snugpak. If you're thinking of buying one stop thinking and buy the damn thing, you'll never regret it.

After reading all the hype about this jacket when I unpacked it and put it on took the dogs for a walk I can say with all honesty it’s all true. Light weight well made comfortable and very warm…..Brilliant.
