Tested the poncho walking in the fens , dead flat, heavy rain and lots of wind. Poncho lived up to expectations and kept the water out.... Pity it wasn't a bit longer though. Should have taken waterproof trousers !!!!! Still its a good piece of kit..
Kept us dry in down pores although had to have the hood done due to hearing problems.
Recommend due to price and durability.
Pleased with my purchase.
I purchased the Mil-Tec poncho and it looks good. It has been tried out in a heavy shower and it kept the water at bay. Good price and the material feels pretty durable.
Yet to try it with a rucksack but there should be enough room without affecting its capability to keep you dry.
Just what I needed.
Perfect for when the heavens open. Waterproof and very well made.
A good piece of gear and the perfect balance between heavyweight ‘old fashioned’ army issue and some gear that is too lightweight to be robust enough to give confidence in multiple-use requirements. We get a lot of rain where I live and it can be sudden. I stopped carrying my waterproof shell jacket due to the sheer impossibility if getting it on fast enough over already wet clothing. Enter the poncho. As with all ponchos, there is a need waterproof trousers.
Very heavy duty poncho, yes with a bit more weight, but must be more robust for those shelter moments
Well made from good material and definitely waterproof. Eyelets, stitching and poppers feel like they will last for a long time. Not the lightest poncho but perhaps that reflects the build quality. I have replaced the edge lacings with my own as they will absorb water and not dry easily - but that’s a small issue. Already used as a poncho, a ground sheet and a small tarp and did all of these well. Recommended.
Excellent Poncho. Light , waterproof and compact
Straight out of the bag it seems to be well made, but not had any cause to use it yet, however the material does appear to give the impression that it would withstand a heavy deluge and keep you dry, for how long is anyone's guess. But I'm satisfied with it, apart from one niggle, I find the hood a bit on the large side, fine if you get caught in heavy rain and wind and have to use the drawstring to pull it around your face, but in a shower with none or little wind and you just want to lift the hood over your head, it obstructs your vision quite badly, it's like being blinkered. But overall a good purchase and at a good price.
